What the top 10% are doing
- Set goals and reward team members: Calculate a production per hour goal that helps doctors achieve the desired income for the month, then ensure scheduling guidelines are in place to allow enough high production visits each day.
- Fill your schedule: Gaps in your schedule equal lost revenue. Leverage unscheduled treatment reports to fill last-minute openings, so that your team is accountable to schedule to the daily goal before leaving each day. Prioritize same-day case acceptance and reserve capacity for emergency access to ensure further treatment opportunities.
- Maximize your resources: Evaluate the number of dental assistants and treatment rooms the doctor has available and whether additional visits could be scheduled each hour with additional resources
- Get the most out of each visit: Use the morning huddle to discuss scheduled production for each provider. You should also identify patients on the day’s schedule that have additional outstanding, unscheduled treatment needs and discuss the option of adding the additional services to their visit.
